About the event
|
The Snailwell Medieval Fayre is an annual event which takes place in early May. The 2008 event, the third annual Fayre, will take place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May.
After a successful opening year, the 2007 Fayre expanded further and this years event will include Horses through history, Knights on horseback jousting and demonstrating mounted hunting games,
a falconer - Out on a wing Falconry, The Hereward Vanguard, battle re-enacting, The Knights of Honour, Devilstick Peat (Jester) and a medieval market with traders selling their wares.
There will be story telling and tales from 'The Yarnsmith of Norwich', a living history encampment, pole lathe turning, weaving, an historic blacksmith handcrafting tools, etc and general activities including have-a-go archery and a crossbow shooting range.
A competition will be held for the best child’s period costume (see photos from 2007) and a children’s tournament will be organised by The Hereward Vanguard.
