About the event

The Snailwell Medieval Fayre is an annual event which takes place in early May. The 2010 event, the fifth annual Fayre, will take place on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th May.

This years event will include Horses through history, battle re-enacting, The Knights of Honour, Devilstick Peat (Jester), demonstrations from the SCA The Kingdom of Drachenwald, a falconer - Out on a wing Falconry and a medieval market with traders selling their wares.

There will be story telling and tales on Saturday from 'The Yarnsmith of Norwich' and on Sunday from Brother Lawrence, a medieval monk. There will be a living history encampment, pole lathe turning, weaving, an historic blacksmith handcrafting tools, etc and general activities including have-a-go archery.

Throughout the weekend, medieval band Serpentyne will be strolling around, to regale you with authentic minstrelsy. They will also be running 'medieval ceilidhs', where they will teach you how to shake a leg in genuine medieval style.

A competition will be held for the best children’s period costume and a children’s tournament will be staged.

Come along and enjoy a fun day out!
